PAN, Aadhaar & IFSC Number Validator

Check whether a PAN, Aadhaar, GSTIN or IFSC is correctly formed: the pattern, the holder type and the check digit. Paste one or thousands. Checked on your device and never uploaded.

About PAN, Aadhaar & IFSC Number Validator

Catch typing mistakes in identity and bank numbers before they cause a rejected form or a failed payment. Paste one number or a whole column: each is recognised as a PAN, an Aadhaar number, a GSTIN or an IFSC and checked against its pattern. PAN holder types are decoded, Aadhaar numbers are tested with the Verhoeff check digit, and GSTINs with their own checksum. Duplicates are flagged and the results export to CSV. The numbers are checked on your device and never sent anywhere.

How it works

  1. Paste one or many numbers, or load them from a CSV or Excel file.
  2. Each number is recognised and checked, with the reason shown for any that fail.
  3. Download the results as a CSV for Excel.

Useful for HR and accounts teams cleaning employee or vendor records, and for anyone filling a form who wants to be sure a number was typed correctly.

Questions about PAN, Aadhaar & IFSC Number Validator

What is the format of a PAN number?

Ten characters: five letters, four digits and one letter, like ABCPK1234L. The fourth letter shows the holder type (P for an individual, C for a company) and the fifth is the first letter of the surname or name.

How is an Aadhaar number checked?

An Aadhaar number has 12 digits, never starts with 0 or 1, and ends in a check digit calculated with the Verhoeff algorithm. A single wrong digit, or two neighbouring digits swapped, fails the check.

Does this confirm that a PAN or Aadhaar is real?

No. It tells you the number is correctly formed and catches typing mistakes. Only the Income Tax Department and UIDAI can confirm that a number has been issued and who holds it.

What is the format of an IFSC code?

Eleven characters: four letters for the bank, a zero, and six characters for the branch, like SBIN0001234.

Is it safe to paste Aadhaar numbers here?

The check runs inside your browser and the numbers are not uploaded or stored. For shared documents, mask all but the last four digits; the Smart Redaction tool does that for PDFs.

Is what I type sent to a server?

No. PAN, Aadhaar & IFSC Number Validator runs as JavaScript inside your own browser tab. Nothing you type is transmitted, and it keeps working without internet once the page has loaded.
