Find the maturity amount and interest of a fixed deposit with quarterly or monthly compounding, a recurring deposit, or a 15-year PPF account, with a year-by-year PPF table.
Three deposit calculators in one. For a fixed deposit, enter the amount, rate and period in years and months, and choose quarterly, monthly, half-yearly or yearly compounding, or simple interest if you take the interest out as it is paid. For a recurring deposit, enter the monthly instalment, rate and number of months; each instalment is compounded quarterly for the time it stays in the account, which is how banks calculate RD maturity. For PPF, enter your yearly deposit and see the balance after 15 years, or after extending in 5-year blocks, with a table of the interest added each year.
For comparing bank FD rates, planning a monthly RD, and seeing what a PPF account will be worth at maturity.

Fixed deposits, recurring deposits and PPF all pay compound interest, but they add it at different intervals. That interval, more than the headline rate, decides how much you end up with.
Most banks compound FD interest every quarter: maturity = P × (1 + r ÷ 400)^(4 × years). ₹1 lakh at 7% for a year becomes ₹1,07,186, an effective yield of 7.19%. If you take the interest out monthly or quarterly instead, it is paid as simple interest and does not compound. Banks deduct TDS once the interest from one bank passes ₹50,000 a year (₹1 lakh for senior citizens), unless you file Form 15G or 15H.
In an RD you deposit the same amount every month. Each instalment earns quarterly compounded interest for the months it stays in, so the first instalment earns the most and the last the least. ₹5,000 a month for 24 months at 7% matures at about ₹1,29,100 on ₹1,20,000 deposited.
The Public Provident Fund runs for 15 years and can be extended in blocks of 5 years. You can deposit ₹500 to ₹1,50,000 a year. Interest is worked out on the lowest balance between the 5th and the end of each month and added once a year, so deposit before 5 April to earn for the whole year. The rate is 7.1% for October to December 2026. Deposits qualify for 80C in the old regime, and the interest and maturity are tax-free.
With quarterly compounding, maturity = P × (1 + r ÷ 400)^(4 × years). ₹5 lakh at 7.25% for 3 years matures at about ₹6.2 lakh.
Every monthly instalment earns interest compounded each quarter for the months it is in the account. ₹2,000 a month for 5 years at 7% matures at about ₹1.44 lakh.
The government set it at 7.1% a year for October to December 2026. It is reviewed every quarter, and the calculator lets you change it.
At 7.1%, about ₹40.68 lakh after 15 years, ₹66.6 lakh after 20 years and ₹1.03 crore after 25 years. PPF interest and maturity are tax-free.
Banks deduct TDS when the interest from one bank is more than ₹50,000 in a year, or ₹1,00,000 for senior citizens, unless you submit Form 15G or 15H.
